COVID-19 Tenant Protections April 27, 2020 Update:
My Law office is ready to assist you with your tenant questions about the new COVID-19 tenant protections. Please contact me through the contact section above.
On March 16, 2020, California Governor, Gavin Newsom, issued an executive order authorizing local governments to exercise their police powers to enact COVID-19 eviction protections for tenants, and he instructed housing authorities to grant extended time for compliance. Los Angeles Mayor, Eric Garcetti, issued executive orders on March 15 and March 23, 2020, to protect tenants in the City of Los Angeles. Los Angeles City Council followed with the adoption of an ordinance with new COVID-19 tenant protections, which was signed by the mayor on March 31, 2020. Los Angeles County has also adopted a COVID-19 tenant protections ordinance.
Those tenants who are in federal subsidized housing assistance programs also have new COVID-19 tenant protections.
I represent residential and commercial tenants in cases involving landlord/tenant disputes. Also, I advise homeowners about the newly enacted California Homeowner’s Bill of Rights, which became effective January 1, 2013.
